About Us

​

KAKAMMPI is a non-profit organization established in 1983, committed to serving the needs of OFWs and their families. We recognize the complex relationship between migration and climate change, as environmental stressors such as natural disasters, sea-level rise, and environmental degradation increasingly drive migration flows. Our organization is dedicated to addressing the unique vulnerabilities faced by OFWs in the context of a changing climate.

1. Child Learning & Development Centers: Integrated centers catering to the educational and developmental needs of OFWs' children and urban poor children, also serving as support shelters for single mothers and abandoned wives.

​

2. Family Wellness Program: Focused on strengthening familial bonds through various development activities, fostering reintegration and resilience.

​

3. Gender Responsiveness Program: Addressing the reproductive health and overall well-being of women, specifically addressing the challenges faced by female OFWs and their families.

4. Economic Reintegration (ER):

​

  • Micro-finance: Providing financial support for economic reintegration through credit assistance and enterprise project facilitation.

  • Multi-purpose Cooperative: Building cooperative structures to enhance economic stability and support members' livelihood initiatives.

​

5. Advocacy & Case Documentation (ACD):

​

  • Advocacy and Networking: Strengthening partnerships and disseminating information to address abuses and violations against OFWs and their families.

  • KAKAMMPIOnline: Utilizing web broadcasting to discuss labor-related issues and reproductive health concerns.

  •   Case Documentation: Offering prompt assistance and documentation for labor violations and abuses experienced by OFWs and their families.

6. Organizational Development (OD):

 

  • Organizing Communities: Educating and organizing communities in areas with high OFW concentrations to raise awareness about labor migration.

  • Campaign and Mobilization: Leading advocacy campaigns to uphold the rights and welfare of OFWs and their families.

  • Research, Training & Resource: Engaging in capacity building through research, training, and resource management to strengthen organizational capacity.

  • Partnership & Solidarity: Maintaining global partnerships and providing support for campaigns and activities launched by allies worldwide.
